WORKSHOP ON JANAMAITHRI SURAKSHA PROJECT.
The Kannur Range level workshop on Janamaithri Suraksha Project was held at North Malabar Chamber of Commerce Conference Hall, Kannur on 13-11-2015 . Sri. S. Sreejith IPS, Inspector General of Police ( Crimes ) inaugurated the programme. Classes, presentations and discussion were held on different subjects. Smt. K.C. Rosakutty, Chairperson, Kerala Women’s Commission was the moderator. The welcome speech was made by Sri. Dinendra Kashyap IPS, Dy Inspector General of Police, Kannur Range, Kannur and Sri. P.N. Unnirajan IPS, District Police Chief, Kannur delivered vote of thanks.
WEAPONS AND EXPLOSIVES UNEARTHED.
The police recovered 32 country-made bombs, 14 swords, 4 axe, 6 steel pipes and one pistol from an uninhabited house at Pazhayanirathu near Kuthuparamba on 19-10-2015. The weapons were seized during a raid conducted by a team of officials led by Sri. Premsadan, CI of Police, Kuthuparamba. Bomb squad and Dog squad also took part in the raid.
Four persons behind the murder of Kallen Ajith at Athazhakkunnu within the limits of Kannur Town PS were apprehended on 20-10-2015. Accused persons were arrested by the Kannur Town police at Muzhappinlangad beach. The police could arrest the accused persons within 24 hours after the commission of offence.
Kannur District Police has commenced a new beneficial scheme by name ‘Aathuramithram’ with an intention to render financial assistance to poor people suffering from serious illness . Preferences will be given for those who are suffering from Cancer, Kidney, Liver, Lungs deceases. District Police Chief, Kannur and Dy Supdt. Of Police, Special Branch are the Chairman and Vice Chairman respectively of this scheme. The request for financial assistance may be sent to District Police Chief, Kannur. All the applications received will be scrutinized and publish a list every month. The subcommittee formed under Dy Supdt. Of Police, Special Branch, Kannur is authorized to conduct enquiry on the applications and to find out the deserving persons. The application once rejected will not be entertained again. The financial assistance will be varied from Rs. 5000/- to Rs. 50,000/-. The cover containing the application should be superscribed as requirement for financial assistance under ‘Aathuramithram’. The scheme is only for the persons from Kannur district.
